Japan successfully launches high-speed Internet satellite

TOKYO (AFP) — Japan successfully launched Saturday an experimental satellite aimed at providing high-speed Internet access across Asia, even when terrestrial infrastructure goes down, the space agency said.
The 342 million dollar-Kizuna will allow super-high speed data communications of up to 1.2 Gbps, which would make it the fastest in the world, the agency said.
That rate would translate to 150 times that of the average high-speed ADSL connection rate of 8 Mbps, or 12 times the speed of a fibre-optic communication delivery to a person's premises (FTTP).

Holy cow ! 1.2 Gbps. Sure, it's gonna be expensive, but i'm ready to give away a pound of my own flesh for that !

Random Musings

Lost some cash while trading RNRL on the BSE yesterday, only to realize that about 5 minutes of patience would have been sufficient to bring the trade into the green.
Lack of sleep (movies) coupled with a tight delivery schedule at office just crabbed my day.
Saw Notting Hill for the first time, liked it.This is an awkward acceptance since I normally would be tormented at the thought of sitting through a Romantic Flick.
Heard Better: Chinese Democracy (GNR) about half a dozen time during evening.
I've been slacking at work for the last few days. Have to sit till late to cover my rear.
Hope it's a brighter day tomorow.
