The nizam visits Golconda

These are some of the photographs of Golconda Fort, Hyderabad.
well, not clearly visible are the details of the ruins of the fort... the world isn't any different now.
Anyway, i hate historical buildings, especially the ones in ruins ,and would continue to do so.
So, that's all for now .

Think About it !

United States embraced affirmative action for blacks in 1960s. But more than reservations, social awareness programs caused employers and universities to actively recruit black people and show that they are giving equal opportunities to all races. The effects have been monitored over the years and the programs adjusted to produce maximum results. Reservations for black has created a creamy layer and the benfits to richer blacks are more visible the poor ones. Malaysia also started reservations for Malay people who traditionally lagged behind people of Chinese and Indian origins. This caused the Chinese and Indians to flee the country with their capital apart from social rifts. Malaysia has recently revoked reservation based on ethnic origins in higher education. In Srilanka, appeasement of traditionally backward Sinhalese population created a huge rift between Sinhalese and Tamils and led to riots and civil war. This is a huge lesson for India, coming out from a neighbouring country, as the classes now being given reservations are outnumbering the unreserved classes. India can witness similar conflicts and caste wars witnessed in some states like Bihar may engulf other parts of the country.

Arjun Singh Unearthed !!

This is a Section of the Interview Held by CNN-IBN channel .
The interviewer was Karan Thapar ... and this is what Arjun Singh had to say .. ... ..
The full discussion can be read from ...
http://www.ibnlive.com/news/decision-on-quota-is-final-arjun/11063-4-1.html

Karan Thapar: So, when critics say to you that you don't have a case for reservation in terms of need, what do you say to them?

Arjun Singh: I have said what I had to say and the point is that that is not an issue for us to now debate.

Karan Thapar: You mean the chapter is now closed?

Arjun Singh: The decision has been taken.

Karan Thapar: Regardless of whether there is a need or not, the decision is taken and it is a closed chapter.

Arjun Singh: So far as I can see, it is a closed chapter and that is why I have to implement what all Parliament has said.

Karan Thapar: Minister, it is not just in terms of 'need' that your critics question the decision to have reservation for OBCs in higher education. More importantly, they question whether reservations themselves are efficacious and can work.

For example, a study done by the IITs themselves shows that 50 per cent of the IIT seats for the SCs and STs remain vacant and for the remaining 50 per cent, 25 per cent are the candidates, who even after six years fail to get their degrees. So, clearly, in their case, reservations are not working.

Arjun Singh: I would only say that on this issue, it would not be correct to go by all these figures that have been paraded.

Karan Thapar: You mean the IIT figures themselves could be dubious?

Arjun Singh: Not dubious, but I think that is not the last word.

Karan Thapar: All right, maybe the IIT may not be the last word, let me then quote to you the report of the Parliamentary Committee on the welfare for the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes - that is a Parliamentary body.

It says that looking at the Delhi University, between 1995 and 2000, just half the seats for under-graduates at the Scheduled Castes level and just one-third of the seats for under-graduates at the Scheduled Tribes level were filled. All the others went empty, unfilled. So, again, even in Delhi University, reservations are not working.

Arjun Singh: If they are not working, it does not mean that for that reason we don't need them. There must be some other reason why they are not working and that can be certainly probed and examined. But to say that for this reason, 'no reservations need to be done' is not correct.

Karan Thapar: Fifty years after the reservations were made, statistics show, according to The Hindustan Times, that overall in India, only 16 per cent of the places in higher education are occupied by SCs and STs. The quota is 22.5 per cent, which means that only two-thirds of the quota is occupied. One third is going waste, it is being denied to other people.

Arjun Singh: As I said, the kind of figures that have been brought out, in my perception, do not reflect the realities. Realities are something much more and of course, there is an element of prejudice also.

Karan Thapar: But these are figures that come from a Parliamentary Committee. It can't be prejudiced; they are your own colleagues.

Arjun Singh: Parliamentary Committee has given the figures, but as to why this has not happened, that is a different matter.

Karan Thapar: I put it to you that you don't have a case for reservations in terms of need, you don't have a case for reservations in terms of their efficacy, why then, are you insisting on extending them to the OBCs?

Arjun Singh: I don't want to use that word, but I think that your argument is basically fallicious.

Karan Thapar: But it is based on all the facts available in the public domain.

Arjun Singh: Those are facts that need to be gone into with more care. What lies behind those facts, why this has not happened, that is also a fact.

Karan Thapar: Let’s approach the issue of reservations differently in that case. Reservations mean that a lesser-qualified candidate gets preference over a more qualified candidate, solely because in this case, he or she happens to be an OBC. In other words, the upper castes are being penalised for being upper caste.

Arjun Singh: Nobody is being penalised and that is a factor that we are trying to address. I think that the prime Minister will be talking to all the political parties and will be putting forward a formula, which will see that nobody is being penalised.

Karan Thapar: I want very much to talk about that formula, but before we come to talk about how you are going to address concerns, let me point one other corollary - Reservations also gives preference and favour to caste over merit. Is that acceptable in a modern society?

Arjun Singh: I don't think the perceptions of modern society fit India entirely.

Here's the Vewpoint ..

.. had a small discussion of over 100 threads on orkut on reservation.
.. Here's what a member had to say...
Now this Dude is from IITkgp. Called Gaurav or something ...
Note how thoroughly he tries to sound Politically Correct .

Here's what he has to say..
"(A)because, nearly 90% of the 'Open category Seats' at IIT/IIM/AIIMS/NID/NIFT/IIHM are offered to those who can afford-
(1) >Rs. 1,00,000 for coaching(in case of IIT/AIIMS/NIT/Top-10 Med colleges).
(2)>Rs.1,00,000/4,00,000[in case of IIM's]('Fact:nearly 70-75% seats at IIM's are offered to Engg. graduates'.Now of these 70-75% nearly 15-25% are grabbed by graduates from 7 IIT's & 15-25% by graduates from NIT's/Other Govt-funded Colleges,So Rs.1,00,000 for 30-50% and most of the rest 25-40% by graduates from Pvt. engg. colleges where most of the students pay ~Rs. 4,00,000 for their 4-year-Education).
(3)>Rs.2,00,000 (in case of NID/NIFT/IIHM,for those with high-profile-Convent-Education perform better when it comes to Aptitude test/GD-PI for 'Govt-funded Design/Fashion/Hotel management' Institutes).
.....So it means that even 'Open-Category' ppl have 'Reservation in between them' in place..it also means that most of the 75% 'open-category-seats' in famous govt-established institutes are repeatedly used by the 'Rich Open Category'(5% of the Indians) and the 'Poor Open Category'(10~16% of indians) gets only a miniscule of these Seats.[This is my Counter-argument to "Children of Quota-beneficiary Govt-officers will repeatedly grab most of the Reserved Seats" raised by our Anti-Reservation activists.......comeon ppl!!when this practice prevails even in 'Open-Category'.why deprive 'Non-open category' ppl from this...and if want to eradicate this evil from our society then all of First eradicate the evils of 'NRI/Management quota' which I'm going to discuss in my next point].

2)Nearly 15-25% seats in most of the famous Private Engg/Med/Management institutes are Reserved for the applicants whose Parents can either offer 5-50 LAKHS as Donation/Capitation fee or use their 'Political connections'...most of times these students thoroughly 'Njoy!' their Time at college and then join the Big Engg-firm/Hospital/Business of their Parents/Relatives...Now tell me,Why you anti-reservation supporters don't challenge merit of these Engineers/Doctors/Managers?

3)Although Financial/Intellectual/Cultural WEALTH/Success of a person depends upon his/her own efforts but most of us will agree that this success can not be achieved without using 'Resources' of his/her 'Country'.
.....Now,as per Govt-approved-Reports nearly 77-85% population of India comprises of 'OBC[52%]+SC[17.5%]+ST[8%]'. whereas Only 15-23% of Indians come under 'Open-Category'.
....so we the 15-23% of the Indians are using most of the Country's Resources and when the Majority(77-85%) of Indians are asking for their 'Proportionate-Share' in the Country's resources [including educational resources] ..we are protesting/yelling..why ppl why? haven't we heard of "Vasudhaiv Kutumbkam-all the world is but one" culture or are we chasing Jungle's Law-'Survival of fittest'?

Be Warned & allow 80% of the ppl to get 50% of the 'Resources'....otherwise they will no more tolerate us 20%-Kicking India at first opportunity-'Open-Category' ppl!!!

Thanking you for bearing my comment,
"

So how that .. this is probably the same viewpoint as any Communist would have ... or the same view as any *Arjun Singh* (9sic0 ,bastard.)

.. here' my sweet reply ... I'll add on a few comments to it late in a seperate blog entry ... am too busy ....
" Hey gaurav Dude .. why don't you listen to me and stick these facts up .
* IIT's do not have 5-15 lacs( Rich DAD seats) neither do IIM's
* who the hell told you that being a SC implies being poor ... there's a difference ... you have Poor general Category student's, who're the only hope of their parents ... who'se their God father .. Not mr. Arjun Singh... right
* Let the OBC's score .. the govt should go in for lesser fees for the OBC's , not lesser seats for the general class ... there's a difference .
* Arjun singh is promoting politics of hate ... I hate the bastards, who'll eye my seat at the IIM's or any college for that matter and won't mind taking out my frustration publically or slyly. "

Tell me what do you think Guys ...

I SUPPORT RESERVATION

Infact I believe that there should be reservation in the indian cricket team ! Atleast 4 ST and 5 OBC candidates in the playing 13.
moreover , No bowler should be allowed to bowl over 80 miles to a SC batsman .
An SC bat'sman's 4 should be taken as a 6 and his 6 as 8 runs.

.. and any SC batsman scoring over 30 runs should be termed as a Century. How's That Arjun Singh !
You bastard , if you really wanna get the country down in tbe dumps , you better do that in a less sly way.
I hope, you have a SC pilot , who'd crash your helicopter soon. And then a SC doctor to ensure that your Autopsy dosent take long
.
Long live the republic !

About this Blog !

Well, today i come up with a renewed sense of Purpose ... FUCK RESERVATIONS !
After slogging for nothing , throughout your measley lives, let me quote a newspaper to you
http://www.telegraphindia.com/1060503/asp/frontpage/story_6175810.asp

"Other students, in favour of the quota and asking for Muslims to be included in it, also hit the streets carrying placards that read: “Anti-reservation is anti-national” and “arrest and hang all anti-reservation elements”."
